A journey on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is as close to time travel as it’s possible to get. Disembarking in Verona you’ll be transferred to Lake Garda where you’ll spend six wonderful nights. Italy’s beautiful lakes are one of the country’s most scenic regions, where the Northern Alps tumble down into shimmering waters, dotted with silver-leafed olive trees and pretty villages. From Lake Garda you’ll travel to Venice where you’ll have a night to explore this enchanting city. Discover the seductive passageways that lead to secret squares, dramatic Gothic architecture and the delicious cuisine of one of the most romantic cities in the world.
Your final Mediterranean discovery sees you embark the exquisite Queen Victoria as you sweep from Venice to Southampton over nine memorable nights. A ship designed with all the modern conveniences but with the splendour evocative of great ocean liners past; every fine detail, from her plush, elegantly decorated public rooms to her gourmet dining and luxurious cabins simply exudes class. Discover colourful Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia before seeking out British quirks, Barbary Apes and the iconic Rock in Gibraltar. You’ll then sail onwards to Southampton where you’ll disembark.
