Explore the National Mall, home to a concentration of excellent museums, art galleries and various statues, sculptures and memorials, or take a scenic stroll around the atmospheric Georgetown Waterfront.

You’ll get the chance to tick off all of Washington DC’s iconic sites during a morning tour today. Witness the Lincoln Memorial, the U.S. Capitol Building and the outside of the White House during your tour before relishing more of the city’s sights and attractions during an afternoon at leisure.

Saying goodbye to the capital, it’s time to transfer to Niagara for a two-night stay. On the way, you’ll visit Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, which is known for the Gettysburg National Battlefield, the site of a turning point in the American Civil War and now part of Gettysburg National Military Park. Tour the Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center, which displays Civil War artifacts, and Gettysburg National Cemetery, where a memorial marks the site of Abraham Lincoln’s 1863 Gettysburg Address, before continuing to Niagara. You’ll be transported to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls for a two-night stay at Marriott on the Falls Hotel or similar.

Savour the power and visual splendour of one of the world’s most famous waterfalls on a fully escorted Hornblower cruise. You’ll sail past the main section, the iconic Horseshoe Falls, before travelling by the Bridal Veil, so named because of its gauzy appearance. In the afternoon you’ll discover the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake on a scenic tour. Enjoy its laidback feel and friendly atmosphere and take a tour of a local winery where you’ll get to sample the local produce.
