    Aruba

    Aruba is an island surrounded by beautiful white beaches and glistening waters. The island is alive with Dutch heritage and history. The streets are lined with pastel painted houses in nearby Oranjestad, which also offers boutiques and malls for those wanting to shop. The beaches are stunning and offer amazing diving and snorkelling opportunities. The famous Natural Bridge can be found on the windward side of the island.

    Manta

    The biggest beach in the area, at El Murciélago, is lined with a variety of inviting restaurants offering seafood and other local dishes. There are many water sports to enjoy in the clear blue sea, including diving, sailing, body-boarding, surfing and sport fishing. The nearby small town of Montecristi is home to some beautiful colonial architecture.

    Salaverry

    Salaverry is full of historical pre-colonial culture. Trips include visiting a number of pre-Colombian sites including the pre-ceramic Huaca Prieta civilization. Close by is the city of Trujillo, the country’s second largest city, set on the edge of the Andean foothills. The City offers a cultural insight into the old city, with numerous colonial mansions open to visitors, cathedrals and the city hall in Plaza Armas. Easily accessible north of the city is Chan Chan, the largest mud city in the world.

    Callao is the gateway to nearby Lima, filled with history, culture and beauty. Lima is a mix of Renaissance architecture, Hispanic ruins, museums and a mix of ethnic heritage including ancient Indiana cultures, Spanish conquerors and a large Chinese population. The charming city’s historic town centre is home to Baroque inspired buildings and beautiful colonial buildings. With neighbouring vibrant towns, quaint fishing villages, beautiful beaches, Lima offers something for everyone.

    Pisco

    The local grape brandy awaits you in the port city of Pisco, developed by 16th century Spanish settlers. The main square is known as the Plaza de Armas, where weapons were stored in case of attack. It’s a more peaceful place now where people buy tejas, small sweets made from pecans and dried fruits.

    Coquimbo

    The port of Coquimbo is the gateway to the La Serena. La Serena is home to some of the longest stretches of beach in Chile, with a beautiful golden shoreline. It also offers intriguing colonial and neo-colonial architecture, with stone churches and pretty avenues of trees lining the centre. The surrounding countryside is full of picturesque villages and vineyards.
