Established in the UK in 2011, founded by experienced travel entrepreneur and CEO Robin Deller along with co-founder Natalie Maye. Imagine Cruising are experts in creating Cruise and Stay Holidays and now selling over 60,000 holidays a year with turnover in excess of £200m and industry beating margin and profit metrics. We specialise in creating competitively priced, unique cruise packages targeted at both traditional cruisers and the “new to cruise” market.

Our Head Office is in the UK with a team of 160 and we are now trading in South Africa, Dubai, Australia, (Brisbane & Perth) a total of 300 employees.

This will help develop both individuals and the company as a whole in our fast moving and developing business.

Job Purpose

We’re looking for an experienced copywriter to lead the copy creation for all direct marketing communications in one of our core markets. Working in a team of graphic designers, art workers and online campaign executives, you will be responsible for writing the copy that brings our holidays to life. 

You will be experienced in writing creative copy for a range of communications (direct mail, brochures, web pages, emails), understand the requirements of different media and be able to demonstrate how your copy has improved marketing effectiveness. As well as your core responsibilities, you’ll need to be flexible enough to occasionally turn your hand to whatever the business needs – be that writing blogs, eGuides, a speech or a TV script.

Typical activities

  • Creating copy for new products for print and online communications
  • Writing copy for press advertising, brochures and email communications
  • Ensuring all copy reflects the correct tone of voice and house style
  • Working with colleagues in Marketing and Product teams to identify how copy and marketing communications can be more effective
  • Acting as the ‘copy expert’ for the team and provide sound advice on best practice
  • Being flexible and confident enough to tackle additional copywriting projects as and when they are required e.g. press releases, content such as eGuides and blogs, TV scripts, radio advertising, social media, etc.

Skill set required:


  • Proven copywriting and direct marketing experience, preferably with a portfolio of your own work to demonstrate
  • Degree educated with a 2:1 or above preferably in an English or Journalism-related degree
  • Ability to produce quality copy to tight deadlines in a reactive and high pressured environment
  • Immaculate proofreading and editing skills
  • Outstanding grammatical skills
  • Good sense of initiative, highly organised and creative
  • Excellent research skills
  • Competent using Microsoft Office


  • Interest in the travel industry and travel experience
