Saying a fond farewell to London, you’ll board the beautiful Northern Belle for your journey to Manchester. A train that evokes the opulence of 1930s style rail travel, make yourself comfortable in your plush seat while enjoying a three-course brunch including sparkling Bellini. Following your stop in Bath you'll step aboard the Northern Belle again as you begin your journey to Manchester through the meandering countryside of England while you enjoy a Champagne Reception with table canapés followed by specially prepared South West Themed Dinner Menu.

Visit Bath

Visiting the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath, you will get the chance to marvel at the honey-hued Georgian architecture, including the iconic John Wood, the Younger-designed Royal Crescent, which overlooks Royal Victoria Park. The sweeping Crescent, made up of 30 Grade I Listed terraced houses, is considered one of the best examples of Georgian architecture in the UK and was even used as a setting for Netflix’s Bridgerton.

Discover the historic Roman Baths, containing the well-preserved remains of one of the greatest religious spas of the ancient world, which still flows with natural hot water. Follow the audio guide to walk on original Roman pavements and take in the ruins of the Temple of Sulis Minerva.

After exploring the Lake District, you’ll be spoiled with a Champagne welcome followed by a tantalising two-course Scottish-themed light lunch with wine as the train crosses the border into Scotland and transports you to Gleneagles.

In the Lake District you will be whisked from the Northern Belle to Bowness-on-Windermere on board a Cumbria Classic Coach. During your time here, you’ll board a traditional ‘steamer’ to enjoy a scenic Lake Windermere cruise. A voyage will take you to the northern tip of the lake and the pretty town of Ambleside. Soak up the scenery of rugged, green mountains before discovering the fantastic art and culture at the Armitt Museum, an art gallery focussing on the history of life and arts of the Lakes, and The Old Courthouse Gallery showcases the best arts and crafts in the Lakes and beyond.

Discover the family home of William Wordsworth, and the location from where he wrote many of his great works at the stunning Rydal Mount and Gardens. The town of Ambleside also offers wonderful shopping, restaurants, pubs and cafes, and the remains of a 2nd-century Roman Fort, located close to the Waterhead Pier.

Travel on board the Northern Belle through the Scottish Highlands with a Loch Ness experience

Say farewell to Gleneagles as you are welcomed back on board the Northern Belle with a glass of Bellini. Prepare to be awe-inspired by the passing scenery as the train glides through the Scottish countryside. Peer out at heather-covered highlands and look out for grazing wildlife as you head north to Inverness-shire. Relish a delicious freshly prepared Scottish brunch as you head through the Highlands towards Loch Ness. After your Loch Ness experience you'll return to the awaiting train and head towards the historical city of Edinburgh. Time to sit back and enjoy a three course Scottish themed dinner served by your on board crew.

The Loch Ness Experience

Loch Ness is a large, deep, freshwater loch in the Scottish Highlands extending for approximately 37 kilometres southwest of Inverness. It is best known for alleged sightings of the cryptozoological Loch Ness Monster, also known affectionately as "Nessie".

During your tour here you’ll get to explore The Loch Ness Project, which has been housed at The Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition for over 30 years, generating scientific information concerning the exploration and investigation into Loch Ness and its famous monster mythology. Cruise the mysterious waters on a Jacobite Inspiration Cruise, during which you’ll view the ruins of Urquhart Castle. You'll also get the opportunity to visit Culloden Moor, the site of the battle on 16 April 1746, when the forces of Bonnie Prince Charlie were defeated by an English government army, so ending the Forty-Five Jacobite uprising.

Day at Leisure Sightseeing in the Historic City of Edinburgh

Stepping into the historic city of Edinburgh, you’ll have a wealth of landmarks, museums, dining and shopping opportunities to explore. The Royal Mile is home to many Scottish heritage souvenir shops, whisky outlets, historic pubs, bars and restaurants.
