Housed in the apse and sacristy of the 15th-century Church of Santa Marta, Sordevolo’s Museum of the Passion celebrates the town’s remarkable Passion Play tradition, performed by local residents since 1816. Through themed displays, costumes, artefacts and historical documents, the museum explores the play’s origins, staging and community involvement. Exhibits highlight everything from scenography and script history to the work of volunteers, actors and costume makers. The visit offers a fascinating introduction to this centuries-old folk theatre and the enduring tradition at the heart of village life.
