Touching down in Tokyo, you’ll transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay. The rest of the day is yours to ease into the rhythm of this vast metropolis, perhaps with a gentle stroll and your first taste of authentic sushi or ramen.

Spend a full day exploring Japan’s capital at your own pace. Wander among the incense and lanterns of Senso-ji Temple in historic Asakusa, find calm beneath the towering trees of Meiji Shrine, or join the crowds at Shibuya Crossing, the busiest intersection in the world.

After one last morning in the city, you’ll transfer to the port to embark Azamara Pursuit^®. Settle into your stateroom, then head out on deck to watch Tokyo’s skyline slip away as your voyage begins.

Japan’s most famous peak takes centre stage in Shimizu. Admire Mount Fuji across the bay from the pine-fringed shores of Miho no Matsubara, or perhaps venture up to the Nihondaira plateau, where the views stretch over green tea fields rolling towards the mountain.

Arriving in Osaka, Japan’s kitchen, you have time to explore well into the evening. Discover the grand Osaka Castle by day, then follow the glowing signs of Dotonbori after dark, where street stalls serve sizzling takoyaki and okonomiyaki.

A second day in Osaka opens the door to Japan’s ancient heart. Kyoto’s temples and traditional teahouses are within easy reach, or perhaps choose Nara, where friendly deer roam freely around its great Buddhist temples.

Tucked away on the island of Shikoku, Kochi is a relaxed, welcoming city. Climb to Kochi Castle, one of the few in Japan to keep its original keep, then try katsuo no tataki, the local speciality of seared bonito.

Hiroshima is a city of resilience and hope. Pay your respects at the Peace Memorial Park and Atomic Bomb Dome, or perhaps take the ferry to Miyajima, where the vermilion torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine appears to float on the water at high tide.

On the northern tip of Kyushu, Kitakyushu blends heritage with a lively harbour spirit. Explore the restored Kokura Castle and its gardens, or wander the Mojiko Retro district, where elegant early 20^th-century buildings line the waterfront.

Sunshine and dramatic coastline define Miyazaki. From Aburatsu, visit the striking Udo Shrine, set within a cave on the sea cliffs, or perhaps stroll the samurai streets and stone walls of the nearby castle town of Obi.

Kagoshima sits in the shadow of Sakurajima, one of Japan’s most active volcanoes, which often puffs gently across the bay. Admire it from the beautiful Sengan-en garden, laid out by the powerful Shimazu clan more than 350 years ago.

Nagasaki has long been Japan’s window to the wider world. Head up to Glover Garden for sweeping harbour views, discover the story of the Dutch trading post at Dejima, and visit the city’s moving Peace Park.

Your first taste of South Korea comes in Yeosu, a charming coastal city scattered with islands. Glide above the sea on the cable car, walk among the camellia trees of Odongdo Island, or perhaps visit the clifftop Hyangiram Hermitage.

Disembarking in Incheon, you’ll transfer to Seoul for a complimentary two-night hotel stay. Once settled, head out to discover a capital where royal palaces stand beside gleaming towers and bustling night markets.

With a full day to explore, you can delve deeper into Seoul. Watch the changing of the guard at Gyeongbokgung Palace, wander the traditional hanok houses of Bukchon Village, then browse the shops and street food stalls of Myeongdong.

Your holiday complete, today you’ll head to the airport for your flight home.
