A Day in the Life on Board Imagine Cruising’s Ultimate 80s Experience

Check out our latest article on a day in the life on board our recent Ultimate 80s experience. From where we had a delicious breakfast to soaking up the sun up on deck, unwinding with a sumptuous massage treatment to the unforgettable performances themselves, we share some of favourite bits of a memorable day on board!

After a well-deserved lie-in, look forward to a delicious breakfast to start your day. Grab a croissant or pastry from the International Café, help yourself to bacon, eggs and the full works at the breakfast buffet in Horizon Court or extend your lie in by ordering breakfast in bed. Open the app or browse the Princess Patter over fresh coffee to see what specific activities are available for you to enjoy today.

Wannabe sailors could join The Ultimate Ship Tour this morning for a three-hour long insight into the ins and outs of running a cruise ship. Explore the kitchens, laundry, hospital, the Captain’s hangout and more and learn fascinating facts about life on board, behind the scenes.

Lunch time! If the weather is good you might decide to hang out in the sun and enjoy a poolside snack from the Trident Grill. For a more formal dining experience, head to the main dining room for a delicious a la carte affair.

Indulge in some me-time as you head for an afternoon at the Lotus Spa. In addition to an extensive list of treatments there is also the opportunity to unwind at The Enclave, a thermal suite complete with hydro-therapy pool, cascading rain shower, heated stone beds and soothing water beds.

Head to the Vista Lounge for a spot of afternoon trivia and a coffee (or ice cream!), or relax with an afternoon film on the outdoor poolside screen and enjoy the last of the day’s sunshine.

Kick your evening off in style by heading to the Princess Theatre for the first of our exclusive 80s concerts as Nik Kershaw takes to the stage. After exploding onto the UK pop scene in the early 80s, Nik enjoyed a string of hit singles including “Wouldn’t it Be Good”, “The Riddle” and his biggest hit, “I Won’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”.

Regal Princess offers an extensive range of dining experiences for you to enjoy. For an additional fee you might choose to book an evening at Sabatini’s or the Crown Grill. Enjoy authentic Italian fayre at Sabatini’s with signature pasta dishes, creamy burrata, lobster and crisp Italian wines, or indulge in fresh seafood, steak, chops and decadent desserts at the Crown Grill.

Settle down in your seats at the Princess Theatre as you return to be serenaded by soul man supreme Martin Fry in the second of this evening’s 80s concerts. Lead singer of ABC, the band were famed as one of the pioneering groups of the era who came and kick-started the Eighties with their own brand of pop. Sing along to epic 80s hits such as ‘Tears Are Not Enough’, ‘Poison Arrow’, ‘The Look Of Love’ and ‘All Of My Heart’.

Nip to Bellinis for a (you’ve guessed it!) traditional Bellini – a delicious cocktail of peach puree and prosecco.

In the final installment of today’s 80s concerts, you can watch The Christians, famed for their hits including hits including “Forgotten Town”, “Ideal World”, “Words”, “Father”, “Born Again” and “Harvest for the World”. If you’re all “eightied” out then finish off the night with one of Princess’ fantastic shows, including Bravo and Born to Dance.
